- Abstract
- The need to intensify nature monitoring has led to an increase in data-driven approaches to guide production and life decisions, especially in forests and large urban areas, which in turn impacts the culture, knowledge, and skills demanded from new engineers. Large data systems have become a current tool to guide decisions in industries strategically migrating to Industry 5.0, as well as for the engineers responsible for implementing these decisions. In this article, we present the approach developed by the Design Lab Group, implemented in a system called Digital Amazon, which monitors, stores, and summarizes greenhouse gas emissions in the Amazon Forest. This system is poised to expand to include data from the Atlantic Forest and urban regions. We will present the skills and knowledge necessary to use such a system, utilizing communication tools designed to fit the ASK (Attitude, Skill, and Knowledge) approach. Digital Amazon was developed as part of a project to manage data from various sources, including satellites, towers, and even exploration planes, and directed the data management toward graduate and undergraduate students, researchers, and the general public. The system was conceived as a service, and the current work adapts the user coupling to increase its value co-creation.
