- Abstract
- The Amazon Forest region is fundamental for the global balance of greenhouse gases (GHG) since it is the largest continental carbon reservoir. In this way, the deforestation of tropical forests, such as the Amazon rainforest (Sierra et al. 2023), can have a considerable impact on carbon emissions. In this context, the deforesta-tion of tropical forests is responsible for about 13% of global CO2 emissions. What’s more, deforestation in Brazil has increased sharply over the last 5 years.
